The game

Craterline is a one-on-one artillery duel you play in your browser, against another player or against the computer. It is free, it needs no account, and it may change at any time — weapons get rebalanced, features come and go, and the game may be paused or shut down. We will try to give notice of big changes, but we cannot promise to.

Playing fair

When you play Craterline, you agree not to:

Security researchers acting in good faith are welcome: report what you find privately to hello@craterline.net and give us a chance to fix it before telling anyone else.

Moderation

To keep the game fair and running, we may — at our discretion and without notice — cancel or refuse invite codes and challenge links, end matches, change or remove call signs, delete feedback, and limit or block access from connections, devices or addresses we believe are breaking these terms or putting the game at risk. The game also enforces limits automatically, such as how often an invite code can be tried or how many connections one address may hold. To report someone, see Report abuse.

Feedback and ideas

If you send us feedback or ideas, you let us use them freely — to fix the game, change it or build something new — without owing you anything. Please don’t send anything you want to keep confidential.

Craterline’s content, and sharing your games

The game — its code, look, name and logo — belongs to Craterline and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may play it in your browser; you may not copy, resell, or host your own version of it.

Streaming and videos are welcome. You may stream, record and share videos and screenshots of your Craterline matches, including on monetised channels, as long as you don’t pass the game off as your own. A link back is appreciated, never required.

Availability, and no warranty

Craterline is provided “as is” and “as available”. It runs on a single server, and servers go down, connections drop and bugs happen. Matches can be interrupted, disconnections can cost you a game, and results are not saved anywhere. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promise that the game will be available, secure, free of bugs, or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

Craterline is free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of matches, progress, data or enjoyment, arising from your use of the game or from not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Other services

The game may use services run by others — analytics if you allow it, and in future advertising — and may link to other websites. Those are covered by their owners’ own terms and policies, not these. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain what is shared with whom.

Age

Craterline is suitable for general audiences: cartoon tanks, no blood, and no chat. It is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the updated terms.
